Algarve Cruising Center provides young adults with life-changing experiences in sailing, local communities and leadership in Portugal and Spain. Live, learn and travel together as a crew of five, guided by highly passionate crew leaders. From novice to Yachtmaster, Powerboat Skipper, VHF, First Aid, Navigation course, dinghy sailing, kayaking, oyster farming, clam farming, fisheries, dolphin watching, mile building. The crew learns from fisherman, expert teachers and sailing instructors. Opportunities for outdoor adventure also abound; corps members hike, kayak, swim and bike across Algarve’s landscape over the course of the season.
Join a small group of sailors your age, along with a Yachtmaster Instructor a Powerboat Instructor and a Marine Biologist to experience taking pre-professional nautical certifications in one of the world’s most challenging and beautifull locations.
Learn how to plan and complete a multi-day passage and sail to Ceuta. take the chance and explore Africa. Put your navigation skills to the test as you sail past colorful beaches, fisherman´s islands, waterfalls and breathtaking rivers. Take the adventure on land as you explore the islands of Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and perform meaningful service projects in local communities. Return home with new skills and leadership experience under your belt, a host of IYT sailing certifications and the confidence to accomplish whatever comes next.
