Course Description

Dive into three unforgettable days of fun, sun, and sea at AquaQuest Camp!
Explore the stunning Faro Beach and the Ria Formosa Nature Park through exciting water sports like sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).
Spot dolphins in the wild, visit the Science Museum, and take part in our beach cleanup challenge to protect the ocean you love.
Stay with your new crew at our cozy Aqua Base Camp, share laughs, and live the ultimate teen water adventure on Portugal’s southern coast!

Earn 4 volunteer hours by participating in our beach cleanup campaign.

Prerequisites
Some of our courses require some qualifications or previous experience from the candidate due to the nature the course. These are the pre-requirements to book and join this course:
At least 13 y.o.
Only for groups from 4 up to 8 teenagers

Day 1 – Welcome to the Waves

Theme: Ocean Discovery & Team Spirit

  • Morning:
    • Arrival and welcome session at Faro Beach
    • Ice-breaker games and orientation
    • Intro to Water Safety & Ocean Awareness Workshop
  • Afternoon:
    • Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) basics and guided coastal tour
    • Group beach activities and swim time
  • Evening (only residential camps):
    • Sunset walk along the Ria Formosa Nature Park
    • Campfire circle and team challenges

Day 2 – Ocean Adventures & Exploration

Theme: Marine Wildlife & Sustainability 

  • Morning:
    • Dolphin-Watching RIB trip – learn about marine life and conservation
    • Visit to the Science Museum in Faro – discover ocean science and local ecology
  • Afternoon:
    • Kayaking through the lagoons of Ria Formosa – explore hidden channels and islands
    • Relax at the beach and team photo challenge
  • Evening(only residential camps):
    • Movie night: Cavalos de Guerra*
    • Journaling or creative time

Day 3 – Sail, Science & Stewardship

Theme: Nautical Skills & Conservation

  • Morning:
    • Intro to Sailing Workshop – learn the basics of wind, balance, and teamwork
    • Mini regatta or sailing challenge
  • Afternoon:
    • Beach Cleanup Challenge – teamwork for a cleaner coast
    • Closing ceremony & certificates
    • Farewell group photo at sunset

*Cavalos de Guerra is a documentary that highlights the alarming decline of seahorse populations in the Ria Formosa Nature Park, in southern Portugal’s Algarve region.
