Medical check for your skipper certification
According to Portuguese legislation, and for the purposes of recognition and equivalence, all IYT certificates issued in Portugal must be accompanied by a valid medical certificate.
If you are not planning to use your certification in Portugal, a medical examination is not required—except in the case of Yachtmaster certification, where a medical check is mandatory.
To obtain your medical certificate, you should contact your family doctor and request a medical examination for recreational boating. For your convenience, the IYT medical form is attached here>>
